Find Your Family
For Saturday evening's Forced Fun Mixer, the students were each given a piece of paper with a name and number on it.
The name was their character and the number was how many characters they had to find from their family.
Velma needed to look for Shaggy, Scooby, Fred, and Daphne. Once their family was complete they had to sit for several minutes to learn 5 new things about everyone else in the group.
It was a great icebreaker and the students really enjoyed it.
Or so it seemed- there wasn't any eye rolling...
Main practice field. Note the grass level here on Day 1. By the end of the week, this field is mostly dirt. Director's scaffolding shown at left side, it's off limits to students but holds 2 levels of directors and coaches.
The outside of historic Bonbright Lodge
This is the interior of the main hall in the Bonbright Lodge building. We hold evening activities here. During the day, the guard frequently uses the hall as practice space and it provides shelter for the entire band during rain storms. Bonbright was once a main building for the YMCA camp. It houses the largest of the girl's bedrooms plus a basement full of interesting camp artifacts.
