Alumni Band Concert

Lake Orion High School Bands hosts an Alumni Band concert. This event is open to any graduate of the LOHS band program or a prior student of Michael Steele (Gaylord High School between 1995 through 2000 and Hancock High School between 1991 through 1993.)

Our first alumni band in 2024 was a tremendous success. It was a weekend filled with reunions, many great memories, and a really fun time making music together again on the stage at Lake Orion High School.

I can't tell you how much fun and joy that I personally had, watching so many former students see each other again after 5, 10, 20 years. I loved every second of making music with everyone who was there, and I can't wait to do it again this coming May!

Don't even think that you "can't" because you haven't played in too long. What matters is us being together again, not how "good" we sound. Every note will be like a gift we all give to each other, and it's likely that what happens in between the notes makes the event so special.

The basic format will be a Friday evening rehearsal on May 1st, another rehearsal, late morning on Saturday the 2nd, a picnic in the afternoon, and an early evening performance on the 2nd. Can't be there for all of it, but would still like to attend? The answer is "yes!" Want to just come and watch? The answer is "yes!" I don't really care...I just want to see you all again!

I hope that you'll be able to join us! If you were here last time, you know how special it was. If you weren't able to make it in 2024, I can't wait for you to experience it with so many other former band members!
